First day may Magh month according to Nepal calendar is called Maghe Sakranti. This first day is celebrated as a big festival. People get bath on the meeting point of three rivers which is called triveni.
According to hindu mythology if anyone take bath on this day every sin cleans. So every religious people go on river and take bath. From this day days go longer and night shorter. Ridi is a meeting point of three rivers so every year here held maghe festival. People take bath first day and enjoy with different programs three day. This year also Ruru friends club organized different musical programs on the occasion of maghe sakranti in Ridi. Many national and local singers and dancers entertained to the local people on that festival. It was held three days. Many religious people from different districts participated on the festival. Triveni is famous for funeral procession and religious bath.
