But here, song is teej song but music is panche baja. Especially there is no use of panche baja on teej, people do not use teej song on panche baja. But in this video we can see teej song on panche baja, its new but interesting. Another part, teej song belongs to girls, in this panche baja girls are dancing. So they mixed Teej song on Panche baja.this creation is a unique creation. Especially girls dance on teej song and boys dance on panche baja. In past girls used to shy to dance in Panche baja and boys on teej song, but now its change. Now girls dance on Panche baja and boys on Teej song freely. This nice dance of short adult man is from Gulmit district. gulmi is a hilly district which lies in western Nepal. It has Kushma as district head quarter. It is famous for caves and temples. Gupteshwor and Alapeshwor caves are famous caves of Parbat district, Dahare Deurali temple is a famous temple in Parpat. The highest bridge also lies in parbat. Panche baja is popular in Parbat district; people used panche baja in different ceremonies. There are so many small young man and woman; they are perfect to sing and dance in Panche Baja. When they starts to dance all the people gather to enjoy. Especially they are popular to create humor. They are funny themselves and when they create humor it’s very amazing. In different ceremonies people request them to dance. In Parbat there is a union of short man and woman called Parbat Hocha Pudka organization which works for the betterment of short people. This organization helps them to improve their skill. The small men are capable to make house hold materials. Especially they remain at home whole day and prepare different materials from bamboo. Bamboo basket is main product. These people are living happily in Parbat.

This video is from Wami VDC, Gulmi district, it was taken on the occasion of chhaiti (6th day of child’s birth). In Hindu religion there are many celebrations of a person from birth to death. When a new child comes in a family in 6th day family celebrates chhaiti, on 11th day celebrates naming ceremony, and on six month celebrates feeding ceremony.

6th day ceremony is very important because it is believed on that day god writes the karma for new born child. Family burns light whole night on that day. Family keeps copy and pen on the bed of new born child to get good karma. Relatives also gather and blesses for the new born child. They give gifts for new child. It’s very happy moments for the family. So they organize music and food to enjoy. Especially they organize panche baja whole day and Bhajan (religious music) whole night. People celebrates 6th day by singing and dancing on panche baja and on Bhajan. In past if the male child born family used to celebrate chhaiti because at that time male child is very important, but now it’s equal. Family celebrates chhaiti either male child born or female child. In past family desires male child to take care of parents on old stage because girls goes their husband’s house after marriage. But now its change, people do not discriminate between boys and girls.

This video is from Kugrha Bhuwachidi, Bhuwachidi is a cultural place which lies on the lap of Malika temple and on the bank of Rudrawati River. Here lives people of different cast. They have different cultures and traditions, they celebrates different festivals, among them teej, dashain and tihar are main. These three festivals are Hindus great festivals. Teej celebrates one day, Dashain celebrates fifteen days and Tihar celebrates five days. Teej is celebrated on September; it is specially woman’s festival. Fasting and worshiping are the religious part of Teej. Woman worships lord Shiva on that day for the long life of husband. And girls worships to get handsome and good husband. Singing and dancing are the interesting part of Teej.

From 1 month before they started to sing and dance in the evening. But on that day all women gathered on central point, spends whole day by singing and dancing. Especially in this festivals woman comes in their birth place (maiti) from their husband’s house and shares their pity through songs. Woman gets leave from work that day. They make songs fast on the spot and sings.  Man also interested to dance on Teej. They don’t sing songs but prefers to dance with girls. Man also helps to play musical instruments. In Bhuwachidi also people celebrates holy festival Teej. They also sing and dance on that holy day. People gathered in Gwadika Chaur and celebrate Teej.

This amazing and funny dance is from Wami V.D.C. of Gulmi district. Wami is reach in historical monuments, which are preserved from long time, on another site it is popular for culture and traditions. Children of wami VDC are very talented in dance. It’s a very funny dance on panche baja,in which a small 9 years boy dances very perfectly and very funnily. In remote areas there are not any dance schools. Children do not get any classes of dance, but they can dance well, its inborn hidden capacity.

Some children can expose their dance as a senior dancer; they are not less than professional dancers. Especially the children of remote areas are perfect to dance in Bhajan (religious songs) and in Panche Baja. Bhajan organizes on religious ceremony and Panche Baja organizes on wedding ceremony. Children gets chance to perform their dance ability on such occasions. Some children are very shy they cannot dance in front of the elder peoples but some children are different, they can dance openly in front of the elders. Small children are very sharp minded. Not only dance some children are very perfect in singing also. They can sing very melodious songs. They cannot get well stage to sing because of that they sing while grazing animals and cutting grass, in remote areas of Nepal there are so many talented children but they cannot get chance to increase their talent because of poverty.

This type of dance and music is popular in western and far western region of Nepal. This traditional music is called PANCHE BAJA. Five different musical instruments are played to create such melodious music; they are: Damaha, Dholaki, Tyamko, Sanai and Jhyali.
