This video is from Kugrha Bhuwachidi, Bhuwachidi is a cultural place which lies on the lap of Malika temple and on the bank of Rudrawati River. Here lives people of different cast. They have different cultures and traditions, they celebrates different festivals, among them teej, dashain and tihar are main. These three festivals are Hindus great festivals. Teej celebrates one day, Dashain celebrates fifteen days and Tihar celebrates five days. Teej is celebrated on September; it is specially woman’s festival. Fasting and worshiping are the religious part of Teej. Woman worships lord Shiva on that day for the long life of husband. And girls worships to get handsome and good husband. Singing and dancing are the interesting part of Teej.
From 1 month before they started to sing and dance in the evening. But on that day all women gathered on central point, spends whole day by singing and dancing. Especially in this festivals woman comes in their birth place (maiti) from their husband’s house and shares their pity through songs. Woman gets leave from work that day. They make songs fast on the spot and sings. Man also interested to dance on Teej. They don’t sing songs but prefers to dance with girls. Man also helps to play musical instruments. In Bhuwachidi also people celebrates holy festival Teej. They also sing and dance on that holy day. People gathered in Gwadika Chaur and celebrate Teej.
